Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifies as a hoarding situation?

Hoarding situations involve excessive accumulation of items over time that create unsafe, unsanitary, or inaccessible living conditions. This can range from cluttered rooms to severe cases involving structural damage, mold, pests, or biohazards.
Not necessarily. We can work directly with the homeowner, a family member, a power of attorney, or a property manager. Every situation is different, and we’ll tailor the process to what makes everyone most comfortable.
It depends on the severity and size of the property. Some jobs take one day, while more severe cases may take several days or even weeks. After an initial walkthrough, we provide a clear plan and timeline.
We carefully sort items and set aside personal documents, photographs, valuables, and keepsakes. Our preferred method is for the homeowner to go through and mark what they want to keep and we will take care of the rest.
If human waste, animal waste, mold, or other health hazards are present, our certified team is trained to safely remediate those conditions. Safety is our first priority—for both the occupants and our crew.
If the hoarding is a result of neglect over time, insurance will not cover it. If there is a sudden action (pipe burst, fire, unattended death, large water loss) then we usually can make the case for a claim. We will have to address the hoarding, to address everything else.
Yes. Hoarding environments often involve odor, rodent activity, or insects. We address cleaning, sanitation, deodorization, and coordinate additional services if needed to fully restore the space.
We can provide guidance and resources but we are not counselors. Oftentimes, we want to make sure each person has a team of people that are aware of the situation and the next steps for support.
Call us and we will come out and give a free, non-judgmental estimate. From there, we will be able to create a personalized step by step action plan of what needs to be done.
